Biography

Chichi Nwoko is the Founder and Group CEO of What Media Group (WMG) and Co-Executive Producer of Project Runway Africa, the continental edition of Fremantle's globally acclaimed fashion competition format, which opened its call for entries in October 2026 and premieres in 2027.

Through the show, she is building a platform that takes African designers from the atelier to a continental audience, with the business, brand and investment visibility the industry needs to scale.

Over a career spanning three decades in film, television, broadcasting and sports, Chichi has built platforms that turn African creativity into commercial value.

She led the Nigerian production of Fremantle's Idols, laid the groundwork for X Factor and Nigeria's Got Talent, produced Lionheart, Netflix's first West African original acquisition, and won an Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award for Road to Yesterday.

Today, WMG brings together broadcasting, production, PR, art direction, talent management and creative infrastructure under one group, and holds African Union Official Media Partner status for Agenda 2063.
