Femi Olayebi is the Founder and Creative Director of FemiHandbags and the visionary behind Lagos Leather Fair (LLF).
With over three decades of experience in leather craftsmanship, she has built FemiHandbags into a respected African luxury brand known for exceptional quality, distinctive design and timeless appeal.
Her entrepreneurial and design expertise earned her recognition as a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women scholar in 2008, while her business became a case study at the prestigious Lagos Business School, cementing her reputation as an industry pioneer in 2012.
In 2017, Olayebi founded Lagos Leather Fair, creating Nigeria’s first dedicated platform focused on strengthening the leather ecosystem and connecting designers, manufacturers, suppliers and other stakeholders across the value chain.
What began as a Nigerian platform has grown into a continental gathering, with LLF now attracting and showcasing leather designers and brands from across Africa, helping to foster greater collaboration, visibility and market opportunities for the continent’s leather industry.
She has also partnered with the Mastercard Foundation on Kafawa, a pilot training initiative under its Young Africa Works programme to support skills development and economic opportunities within Nigeria’s leather sector.
